This is their land, and this is YOUR land too. \u2022 When people joke about \u201ckilling all Chinese\u201d, you don\u2019t laugh! Less than a hundred years ago, Japanese Americans were sent to Internment camp when other fellow Americans thought that they were foreigners. \u2022<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">When people joke about \u201ckilling all Chinese\u201d, you step out and tell them that this is not funny. Four times as many Chinese died during World War II as Jewish did. Son, Mom is proud of you because you are nice, kind, and peaceful. Yet, that does not mean that you should be picked on and be bullied. Don\u2019t we already have too much campus<br \/>\nviolence, bullying, and shooting?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Mr. Kimmel&#8217;s so-called apology was &#8220;today is a weird day&#8230;I am sorry if I<br \/>\noffended anyone&#8230;I was just telling a joke.&#8221; In the letter to 80-20, ABC<br \/>\nstill claims \u201cit only entertains\u201d. Since when did &#8220;Killing&#8221; become a &#8220;joke<br \/>\n&#8220;? Why is joking about killing Chinese so entertaining?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Last Saturday when we had a rally at Balboa Park, one pedestrian asked us:<br \/>\n\u201cWhy Chinese?\u201d\u00a0 Yes, why Chinese.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">30 years ago, Vincent Chin, a Chinese American engineer in Detroit like many<br \/>\nof us was walking on a street.\u00a0 Then he was mistaken as Japanese and was<br \/>\nbatted to death by unemployed auto worker.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Why Vincent Chin?\u00a0 Why Chinese?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Is that too distant a past?\u00a0 Just 8 days ago, at Otay Ranch High<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a id=\"FALINK_1_0_0\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mitbbs.com\/article_t\/SanDiego\/31862787.html#\">School<\/a> in<br \/>\n<a id=\"FALINK_2_0_1\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mitbbs.com\/article_t\/SanDiego\/31862787.html#\">San Diego the<\/a> 16-year-old Steven Liu took his own life after being bullied.<br \/>\nHis friend said &#8220;People took advantage of him&#8230;because he&#8217;s a really nice<br \/>\nguy&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Why Steven Liu?\u00a0 Why Chinese? Actually, they are not even Chinese, they are<br \/>\nChinese AMERICAN.\u00a0 We Chinese American are also part of America and are<br \/>\nproud of our cultural heritage.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I&#8217;d like to quote what Joan Baez said at Feb 9, 2010 White House performance:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8220;One day, Dr. King realized that the non-violence fight went well beyond the<br \/>\nshores of this great country, went far across the sea to a war that was<br \/>\nbeing fought by God&#8217;s children on both sides of that great fight. And he<br \/>\nknew that he had to speak out against that. And he was afraid. He was very<br \/>\nafraid. So we all raised our voices just a little bit louder, and we said: &#8216;<br \/>\nWe are not afraid today&#8217;.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">So my friends, we stand together today. We walk hand in hand today. We also<br \/>\nraised our voices just a little bit louder today.
