\u636e\u6d3b\u52a8\u7ec4\u7ec7\u65b9\u4eba\u58eb\u4ecb\u7ecd\uff1a\u53d7\u4e9a\u592a\u8054\u76df (\u2018APAC\u2019) \u7684\u59d4\u6258\uff0c\u5723\u5730\u4e9a\u54e5\u534e\u4eba\u8054\u76df (\u2018ACA\u2019) \u5c06\u4e3b\u6301 2018\u5e74\u7b2c\u56db\u5c4a\u4e9a\u88d4\u4f18\u79c0\u9ad8\u4e2d\u751f\u5e02\u957f\u5956\u7684\u534e\u4eba\u793e\u533a\u7684\u8bc4\u9009. \u8be5\u5956\u8bc4\u9009\u5411\u6240\u6709\u5408\u683c\u7684\u5b66\u751f\u5f00\u653e, ACA\u6536\u96c6\u5230\u6240\u6709\u5019\u9009\u4eba\u7533\u8bf7\u6750\u6599\u4e4b\u540e\uff0c\u5c06\u7ec4\u7ec7\u7531\u5404\u754c\u534e\u4eba\u4ee3\u8868\u7ec4\u6210\u7684\u8bc4\u9009\u59d4\u5458\u4f1a\u8bc4\u9009\u6700\u540e\u7684\u83b7\u5956\u4eba\u3002\u534e\u4eba\u793e\u533a\u5171\u6709 4 \u4e2a\u83b7\u5956\u540d\u989d\u3002<\/p>\n

Award Guidelines<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n
Commissioned by Asian Pacific American Coalition (\u2018APAC\u2019), Alliance of Chinese Americans of San Diego (\u2018ACA\u2019), a non-political, non-profit organization with the mission to educate, empower and engage the new generation of the Chinese immigrants and help them become responsible and thriving citizens, is proud to host this year\u2019s San Diego Outstanding API Student Mayoral Award (\u201cMayoral Award\u201d) <\/strong><\/p>\n

The purpose of Mayoral Award <\/strong>is to recognize those high school students who have demonstrated strong willingness and made significant efforts in civic engagement, revealed extraordinary leadership skills with proved accomplishments, actively participated in community outreach programs as well as maintained academic excellence in school. \u00a0By recognizing these students, we hope to discover next generation leaders for our Chinese American community.<\/p>\n

Here are general guidelines to those who apply to Mayoral Award<\/strong>:<\/div>\n

ELIGIBILITY<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n
\n
    \n
  1. Be descendants of Chinese immigrants<\/li>\n
  2. Currently enrolled in school within San Diego County area.<\/li>\n
  3. Have maintained a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) and above on a 4.0 scale<\/li>\n
  4. Have not received this same award in the past.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n

    APPLICATION PROCESS<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n
    The application deadline is\u00a0 April 16<\/span><\/strong>, 2018<\/span>.\u00a0 <\/strong>To apply, please click\u00a0here<\/span><\/a>\u00a0to submit the following required material.<\/p>\n

    1. The completed Mayoral Award Application Form.<\/li>\n
    2. A recent standard photo (2 x 2) in jpeg\u00a0format.<\/li>\n
    3. A copy of the most recent school transcript in PDF.<\/li>\n
    4. A short biography (no more than 80 words).<\/li>\n
    5. A list with full description in PDF<\/strong> for the followings:\n
        \n
      1. All the unpaid activities including community services and the leadership experiences starting from middle-school. Indicate the average hours spent per week on each activity.<\/li>\n
      2. All the honors and awards received applicable to community services and the leadership experiences starting from middle-school<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
      3. Personal Statement (no more than 500 words):\u00a0\u00a0How your volunteering experience has impacted you and others around you.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n

        SELECTION PROCESS<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n
        To ensure complete impartiality in selection of recipients and to maintain a high level of professionalism, the Mayoral Award<\/strong> Committee will consist of respected local community leaders as well as executives from local industries.<\/p>\n
          \n
        1. The first round of selection is based on the student\u2019s submitted application materials.<\/li>\n
        2. The applicants who pass the first round of selection will be notified to enter the second round of selection.<\/li>\n
        3. The second round of selection involves an interview for which the selected candidates are expecting to give a short presentation, followed by questions of the committee.<\/li>\n
        4. The final decision is based on the results from the 2nd round of selections.<\/li>\n
        5. Decision of the Award\u00a0Committee will prevail.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n

          The final receipt will be notified after the selection processes are completed.<\/div>\n
