亚裔传统奖颁奖揭晓在即 有多少华裔获提名?

圣地亚哥华文网报道:已连续举办七届的亚裔传统奖(Annual Asian Heritage Awards),离今年第八届颁奖揭晓的日子已近。不少圣地亚哥民众最近纷纷开始抓紧做同一件事情,就是到这两个网站:asianheritageawards.com 和asianheritagesociety.org 为自己选举提名、或赞同和支持的传统奖个人和团体投上一票。

今年的授奖仪式将于八月二十日在 Mission Bay 的 Paradise Point Resort 举行。除十四大类奖项由公众提名,并经票选产生外,另外每年度还有一个特别贡献奖。今年的特别贡献奖将授予著名企业家和社区活动家C. C. Yin先生,以表彰他在协助成立亚太美国人公共事务协会(Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs Association (APAPA)),促进亚太裔参政,及企业发展中的贡献。

今年亚裔传统奖正接受提名的十四大类奖项为:教育、企业、创业、政府、法律事务、文化保护、保健和医药、军事、表演艺术、艺术和文学、技术创新、社区服务、人道主义宣传和媒体(education, business enterprise, entrepreneurship, government, legal affairs, cultural preservation, health and medicine, military, performing arts, art and literature, innovation and technology, community service, humanitarian outreach and media)。

据今年亚裔传统奖组织方,亚裔传统协会(The Asian Heritage Society)和亚裔文化商务杂志(ASIA, The Journal of Culture & Commerce)介绍,到目前为止,他们总共收到了67个传统奖提名。他们分别代表了十四类奖项,其中有11岁的小作家Bethany Huang (黄依妮)、科技探索成吉思汗古墓之谜的加大圣地亚哥分校自然研究科学家的Albert Yu-Min Lin、著名电视厨艺秀主持人Martin Yan (甄文达)等。社区相熟的华裔社团和个人约近20个获提名:除全美华人文化教育基金会、州立大学孔子学院今年再次被获提名外、月光舞蹈团等新晋获入名榜。举办方介绍说,所有被提名个人和团体的简历已经刊登在这个网书的第六页到第十二页:http://content.yudu.com/Library/A1sdlb/AsianHeritageAwardsN/resources/index.htm?referrerUrl=http://www.yudu.com/item/details/339429/Asian-Heritage-Awards-Nominees
